HISTORY
NYE on the Hill grew out of The Hills Are Alive Festival, a unique and much-loved event that began as an invite-only party on a hill for 334 music-loving friends-of-friends (many of whom were musicians in the local Melbourne music scene).
After four good-vibing Hills Are Alive gatherings, we thought we’d host another little party on the Hill for New Year’s Eve 2012. Two-hundred-and-seventeen friends came along and it was such a blast that the next year we decided to invite more good-people and turn it into a festival.
The original concept, which still thrives today, is that anyone, at any time, should be able to turn to the person next to them, introduce themselves, and then party together like old friends while discovering the best up-and-coming musical talent the region has to offer.
Each year NYE on the Hill continues to celebrate all the things that makes The Hills Are Alive vibe what it is. Good people. Great Music. A Stunning Location. Good Times. Every year has sold out so far and we anticipate this year to be the same.
